JONSIE ISASMENDI
Jonsie Isasmendi was born in Salta, Northen Argentina, in 1961.
At a very early age she moved to Buenos Aires, where she grew up and studied. In 1985 she completed her Bachelor's degree in Social Communications at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE). She also studied Design for 2 years, which triggered her passion for Art.
Always interested in nature, people and different cultures, she travelled extensively and lived in many countries with her family.
Moved by her admiration for artists such as Rembrandt, Turner, Gaudi and Kiefer, she pursued art studying in Buenos Aires with artists and mentors Alberto Martinez-Pueyrredón and Magdalena Roccatagliata. By 2010 she moved to New York and commenced new artistic studies at the Art Students League in New York (ASL) with worldwide renowned artist Larry Poons. By 2014, she attended classes with Kenneth McIndoe and Mariano del Rosario at ASL becoming a member and full-time student of ASL, where artists such as Georgia O'Keefe, Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder or Mark Rothko studied.
Jonsie has exhibited in USA and Argentina. She is currently a co-partner and resident artist at Studio Back2Back in Long Island City, New York. Her artworks are included in private collections in USA, Argentina, Australia and Spain.
